Aldinga Beach Cadets

Aldinga beach CFS runs the biggest Cadet program within Kyeema Group.

If you are interested in learning, having lots of fun and making some really great friends that you will have for life then the CFS Cadets are ready for you to join us!

The Aldinga CFS brigade regularly accepts applications from young men and women between the ages of 11 and 16 for our cadet program.

Cadets train every Thursday night between 1845 (6.45pm) and 2100 (9.00pm) at the Aldinga Beach Fire Station. All cadets are issued with boots, protective clothing, helmets and gloves at no cost. In fact the only cost you will have to pay is for a CFS T-Shirt which is yours to keep.

As a CFS cadet you will be trained by qualified and experienced volunteer firefighters in:

  • Firefighting skills;

  • Using fire hydrants and hoses;

  • Using ladders;

  • Fire extinguishers;

  • Search and rescue;

  • Using CFS radios;

  • Map reading;

  • Basic first aid;

  • Cadets will be trained in everything that you will need to know to become a Firefighter

Cadets are given the opportunity to participate in a Basic Firefighter 1 training course, this ensures they meet the minimum level of training required for them to become full firefighters when they turn sixteen years of age.

Successfully completing a Basic Firefighter course also allows students to gain credits on their S.A.C.E. at high school.

To find out more about becoming a Aldinga Beach CFS cadet please contact the Tanya Norman who is the brigade Cadet coordinator by email, or call the fire station
